Winter Sunset

I took this photo on my cell phone during a drive one evening. The sunset was quite spectacular. I love how you can see layers in the sky. I'm pretty sure what appear to be black smudges are the result of the lower clouds and the car being in motion (don't worry, I wasn't driving). I just love the vibrant colors. The original photo was muted compared to what you actually saw so I put it in an editor app on my phone to increase the color saturation. I am always amazed at what is lost when you take a picture and what you can get back using a photo editor.

My husband gave me a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for Christmas. I was a die hard iPhone fan and it was a hard transition to make but I am enjoying it. The one thing making it more than worth the change is the SketchBook for Galaxy. Its not quite the same as drawing with a real pen or pencil but it is a fun alternative. Here is an image I created this week. I think I will have to practice more to get the hang of it, but I do like how this turned out. After drawing it in the SketchBook, I used Pixlr Express, an application I downloaded for free from the play store, to add the boarder and effects.
